Philosophies- There is a history
to every site which should be explored before any design has begun.
Much of the inspiration of the design comes from the building
site itself: views, smells, colors, wind direction, sun, etc.
With that in mind, each site has a uniqueness all to itself and
thus the design will reflect the environment, the owner's requirements
and goals. While no client has the same needs as the next, all
designs shall be as unique as the clients themselves. Each project
is approached with sensitivity to the site and it's surroundings
while using indigenous materials to blend with the natural landscape
to become harmonious with the site.
Sustainable/Green Design - While
paying close attention to the philosophies of design, with any
given site the design will naturally have green and sustainable
characteristics. The arrangement of the structure(s) set amongst
the topograpghy of the site, the solar orientation of the site,
the ecology of the site and the type of construction and materials
are all contributers to creating sustainable and green design.
Green design is not only about the recycling and the re-use of
materials, but it is also reducing consumption and use of non-renewable
sources.
